ASHT Executive Board & Voting Members

Airdrie Sky High Twirlers is a non-profit society that is governed by an Executive Board of volunteers.  Each term is two years and voted on in the AGM each year. The Executive positions on the board are the Chair*, Vice-Chair, Treasurer & Secretary. Additional voting members of the board are the Past-Chair, Registrar and Parent Lead.

*On the ASHT board, the Chair will only vote in the event of a tie.

 

Matthew Spooner

Chair

Matthew is the proud Chair of Airdrie Sky High Twirlers and a dedicated baton dad. He's the owner of Matty's Driving School and brings years of leadership experience, a passion for youth programs, a love for road trips, hiking and photography with his family.

  

Jeff Patton

Vice Chair

Jeff has been involved in the sport of baton for over 20 years. He has served on several boards, both at the local and provincial levels. If you are looking for him at a competition he is likely behind the scenes helping to make things run smoothly.  His fondest memories are seeing his two daughters represent Canada at several international competitions.

Eric Shewchuk

Treasurer

Eric has a twirler in the competitive program and has been with ASHT since 2019 when his daughter started in the 8 week session.  

Eric is the current ASHT Treasurer.

Jody Gillingham

Secretary

In 2017, Jody's journey with ASHT started as her daughter enrolled in the 8-week session. Fast forward to 2020, her daughter has become a competitive twirler, and since then, baton twirling has played a significant role in our lives.

 

ASHT Parent Board and Volunteers

We also have a parent board made up of key volunteer positions within the club. These volunteers along with the ASHT Executive work together to keep our club running efficiently. It takes a lot of volunteers to keep a club like this operational, thank you to our current Parent Board:
